Sometimes we feel like there is not enough time in the day. 24 hours just isn’t enough for us to do all that we need to do. It seems that time is not on our side with all of the tasks, obligations, and commitments we have. But I’ve discovered that we have all the time in the world to do what we need to do as long as we manage our time appropriately.

I work 10-hour shifts at my “regular” job, manage a blog, podcast and have an event management firm. I, too, was singing that song of not having enough time to do all the things I needed to do for my businesses. But when I got really clear about what I really wanted and how I was going to get it, time seemed to not be the issue. The issue was how I was managing my time. When I got really clear about how to manage my time, I was able to do everything I needed to do it.

We have to manage those small moments we have available and do tasks in them. It does take proper planning however it’s not rocket science.  I use my breaks to complete short and easy tasks. I use time after work to complete bigger tasks that may not take very long. I use my off days to do chunks of work. I wake up every single morning at 5:30 am to complete tasks for an hour before work.

If you want to get ahead of the game, you must manage your time well. Here are a few tips to help you:

  • Decide how much time you actually have available
  • Write out the things you have to do
  • Plug those items into the time you have available
  • Create a solid schedule and stick to it

Running a business isn’t easy. Time is certainly a factor that can help or hurt you in managing your business. But if you have a clear and concise plan on how you will manage the moments you have, time will definitely be on your side.
