LM: Tell me a little bit about yourself.

TF: As a single mother of 5 and a triple threat to entrepreneurship, I am passionate about being a mother and building successful business platforms that will make a positive difference in the lives of small business owners as well as my families. I am accounting and I love the world of accounting.

LM: Tell us about your business.
TF: Fontenot & Associates Solutions, LLC (FAS) is a full-service accounting and operations outsourcing firm for serviced based businesses located in Katy, Texas. FAS is committed to globally supporting entrepreneurs and business owners streamline accounting and operational processes and minimize business risk through the management and development policies and procedures. With 15+ years of accounting and operations professional experience in Corporate America, she is passionate about using her skills and knowledge to improve the success rates of new and existing service-based entrepreneurs and small business owners.

LM: What prompted you to start your business?<
TF: The need for freedom and financial wealth is what ignited the spark to start my own business. Becoming my own boss is a journey but it is one that I love and one that takes my commitment and determination. As an outsourcing consultant, I have learned that my knowledge and skillset can make a difference for many companies globally because statistics continue to show companies are failing due to the management of finances and capital. I want to be the difference in business.
LM: Have you always aspired to be an entrepreneur? Why or why not?
TF: Yes. The journey of entrepreneurship has always been a part of me. It started with taxes then my interest in designing and selling T-shirts, creating resumes, and many others. Thus, FAS is not my first aspiration. The entrepreneur journey has allowed me to define my passion and purpose.

LM: What’s the best part of being an entrepreneur?
TF: Entrepreneurship gives me freedom in decision making and time. As I build and grow my business I gain clarity and that clarity allows me to make the best decisions about what I enjoy and what I want to do on a day to day basis.

LM: What’s the worst part of being an entrepreneur?
TF: The worst thing about entrepreneurship is that it gets lonely and you hold all the cards to financial success.LM: Who’s your inspiration? Why?
TF: My family is my inspiration. The platforms I strive to build will be family platforms myself and my children can grow with. Our inspirations will allow us to be an inspiration and/or source to others.

LM: Where do you see your business in 3 years?
TF: In three years, I plan to have grown the entrepreneurial platforms I have chosen thus far to be an asset within the community and family homes. I want to be in a growth capacity so that we may hire support and be outsourcing contributors to the success of other small businesses. We strive to create additional streams of income that will allow me to invest back into the business.

LM: What advice would you give a new entrepreneur?
TF: From day one treat your business like a business and not a hobby. Conduct research on your business industry so that you can make be best financial decisions possible from the start.
