LM: Tell me a little bit about yourself.
SL: I am shy, quiet, and observant. My motto is Without God, it cannot be done. I have never been married and pray it happens one day. I love reading.

LM: Tell us about your business.
SL: My business offers the services of ghostwriting, proofreading, and self-publishing. I enjoy helping others birth and deliver their book.

LM: What prompted you to start your business?
SL: My love for reading and writing.

LM: Have you always aspired to be an entrepreneur? Why or why not?
SL: Yes. I have always wanted to be the boss. I have also been told that I am bossy. I feel that being an entrepreneur allows me to run my business the way I envision.

LM: What’s the best part of being an entrepreneur?
SL: Running your business according to your vision

LM: What’s the worst part of being an entrepreneur?
SL: Getting clients

LM: Who’s your inspiration? Why?
SL: My children. I want to show them that they can reach their dreams despite setbacks and lack of support. I want them to know that with God by their side they can conqueror all thins.

LM: List some of your greatest achievements
SL: Being featured in Making the Headline Newspaper, being featured twice in Voyage Houston, getting my bachelors degree, becoming an author

LM: Name a time when things didn’t go right. What happened and how did you get past it?
SL: I did some work for a customer around 6 years ago. Each time I asked for my money she would have some issues. Needless to say, I never got paid. I went on her FB page and see that she is involved in all of these endeavors. I was tempted to say something but I did not. I know that God will continue to supply my needs.

LM: Where do you see your business in 3 years?
SL: High sales volume, more people added to the team as workers, and high clientele.

LM: What advice would you give a new entrepreneur?
SL: You are going to get knocked down. You will not receive support from the people that you think. Everybody is not for you. Some people are just waiting to see you fall. Despite all of the above, don’t ever give up. If God brought you to it, He will bring you through it!
