Shameeka is the Founder and Curator of a Fabulous Women’s Staples Clothing Showroom. As the Head Stylist, Shameeka provides essentials, staples, and impulsive pieces that either upgrade or upscale her clients’ wardrobe. She keeps them ready for any and every occasion.
LM: Tell me a little bit about yourself.
SS: I’m obsessed with Fashion! I love to shop. I’ve been an entrepreneur since my early 20s. Event planning and styling my clients keep me busy and I love it.
LM: Tell us about your business.
SS: The Staple Showroom provides clients with their Wardrobe Essentials and Staples Pieces.
LM: What prompted you to start your business?
SS: I decided to shut the doors on first love, my first clothing boutique My Secret Treasures Boutique December 31, 2019, because of growth. I re-branded and launched The Staples Showroom on Feb 8th, 2020 to focus more on Essentials, Staples, and Impulsive Wardrobe Pieces for women who need help.
LM: Have you always aspired to be an entrepreneur? Why or why not?
SS: Yes since my early 20s! I was hustling t-shirts to wedding invitations.
LM: What’s the best part of being an entrepreneur?
SS: Being your own boss, Creating something Magical!
LM: What’s the worst part of being an entrepreneur?
SS: Being taking advantage of.
LM: Who’s your inspiration? Why?
SS: Ming Lee from Snob Life. I’ve followed her from the beginning. Her Visuals are always on point. One of the best on social media.
LM: List some of your greatest achievements
SS: Starting over. My Business Journal; I’m an Author. My first storefront. Degrees. Editorial Brand already in 2021
LM: Name a time when things didn’t go right. What happened and how did you get past it?
SS: Plenty of times, I did too many favors and got nothing in return to benefit my brand. I wrote a book and started saying no more often.
LM: Where do you see your business in 3 years?
SS: Household Name, 2 locations, and 1 private showroom and warehouse.
LM: What advice would you give a new entrepreneur?
SS: Be wise and do your own research. Don’t depend on others. Focus on your Brand. Tune out media whenever you’re feeling down.
