Neiki LaTrelle Jones was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She had a dream and a vision to support leaders with the launching of A.L.A.Y.A. Ministries. Her commitment to girls and women is unmatched. I’ve been a witness to all of her great work. I’ve seen Neiki push through adversity and achieve so much. She is definitely a fighter.

Tell us a little about yourself
My name is Neiki LaTrelle Jones and I was born on May 6, 1976, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I am a proud mother of one daughter and she is twenty-four years old. I had a dream to build a unique outreach organization committed to recognizing, nurturing and supporting leaders of the past, present, and future. Her vision was realized with the launch of A.L.A.Y.A. Ministries a 501 © (3) organization, dedicated to helping individuals who are struggling with identifying the purposed leader buried deep within them.
I have won several awards during the course of her community philanthropy but the one award that she is most proud of is the National Council of Negro Women’s Bethune Award for her contributions to young women of color in the Houston Community. I was also featured in VoyageHouston Magazine for her Non-Profit Organization.  I am so thankful to have published my first book entitled, “When the Pieces Begin to Fit”. “When the Pieces Begin to Fit” is an insightful look into my life. On the pages of this book, I speak on my struggles with low self-esteem, a suicide attempt, her divorce, and not being complete. For many years, I viewed myself as “less than,” not realizing that GOD had equipped her with a purpose:  The tragic experiences would help others persevere through their own moments of uncertainty. I understand all too well the issues that plague our society, including rejection, abandonment, low self-esteem, wanting to fit in, and suicide because I went through them all.

Tell us about your business and brand.
I just recently launched NeikiSpeaks which will be an LLC. NeikiSpeaks is a platform where all can come to get motivated, inspired and empowered. NeikiSpeaks will encourage those to remain confident in themselves while boosting confidence that anything and everything is possible and achievable.

What inspired you to pursue this area?
I would say what inspired me with NeikiSpeaks is that for the latter part of 2019 God was really dealing with me getting out of my comfort zone. He allowed my comfortable to become uncomfortable. I love to inspire and encourage everyone. I just began to pray on what  God wanted me to do next. To be honest, during the midst of me writing my book and once it was completed that is when I fully knew that I was called to encourage God’s people. We all have had pieces of lives to be broken because of what we experienced as kids, teenagers, and even adults and to know that despite the circumstances we ALL can make it and that those broken pieces can begin to fit. You know LaKisha, we all need someone to encourage us because there are times when life can beat us down so to where it is hard to encourage yourself at times. I want to be the voice to those whose voices are muffled.

What’s next for you?
I am in the process of becoming state certified as a peer to peer recovery coach and I am so excited about that.  I am writing out the plans for doing my very first workshop.  I also have some speaking engagement lined up for 2020, talk about pushing past the comfort zone!
