Being a Mompreneur is no easy task. Running a family is a full-time job but to also run a business may seem overwhelming. It doesn’t have to be if you have a plan and follow it. Here are a few tips to help you.

Know Who’s Really the Boss

If you have a family, please know they are the real bosses of the business. How sway? Well, most of your decisions will be based on their needs, wants, and schedules. One of the main reasons you want to be an entrepreneur is to have the freedom to work when you want and to spend time with your family. You will have to base meetings and appointments around your family duties. Don’t enter into mompreneurship thinking you’re running things. You may be the CEO but you have a board of directors to report to!

Use Your Time Wisely

If you think being a mompreneur will give you more time you sadly mistaken. Remember you’re the CEO of your own company however you have to be very strategic and intentional with your time. I suggest starting your day the night before by writing a to-do list for things you have to get done the next day including any family commitments. Have timelines for all projects and adhere to that schedule. Be sure to include self-care time when making your schedule.

Pace Yourself

When you decide to step into mompreneurship, don’t rush yourself to be at any particular level right off away. Pace yourself and set reasonable precedents for your business. Don’t think you have to be super mompreneur in 3 months or even 6 months. You decide how fast or slow you go in your business.

Be Focused and Consistent

In order to be successful, you must stay focused and consistent. That takes discipline. You must set your intentions daily and do what you say you will. You have to do things that will drive your business forward. It’s easy to get distracted but you must focus on the tasks at hand and execute them to the fullest.
