Tell us a little about yourself and what you do.
I am a publicist and the owner of Lemon-Lime Light Media. I provide strategic publicity to brands and those in the entertainment industry.

What inspired you to pursue this area?
I was inspired to be a publicist after being in radio for a few years and applying for a position that I didn’t receive. The publicist for the company that I applied for reached out to me saying she had another opportunity that would be more fitting. It was a position that allowed me to work on a college initiative for Essence Magazine. I was 19 years old and I’ve been doing PR since.

What advice would you share with someone interested in PR?
If you’re interested in PR, please understand the industry, understand the craft of what PR consists of, understand that a lot of what you’re going to have to do is put other’s first (at times), understand journalism, build good relationships, and work hard.

What’s next for you and your brand?
This year, my company will be 9 years old, so I plan to launch a new entity of my brand that I’m excited about.
