Krystal is an Inspire Smart Success Experience Alumni, a member of Aisle Society, a former member of the Munaluchi Bride Coterie, Wedding Wire & The Knot awardee, and has collaborated with several local & national wedding industry vendors. Krystal’s work has been featured in Black Bride, Black Southern Belle, and the Premier Brides of Mississippi Wedding Magazine. In addition, Krystal has served on the Prevailing Woman Conference & Werk, Pray, Slay Conference teams working behind the scenes. Krystal has also spoken at several conferences and sat on discussion panels to discuss public health issues, balance, and mompreneurship.
A native of Natchez, MS, Krystal graduated cum laude from Tougaloo College with a Bachelor of Arts in Health & Recreation with a Community Health Emphasis. She later attended Jackson State University for the Master’s in Public Policy & Administration and attained her Master’s in Public Administration from Belhaven University and a Master’s in Business Administration, Digital Entrepreneurship Concentration from Strayer University.
In addition, Krystal is a member of AHIMA
(American Health Information Management Association) and has participated in the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Task Force. She is also an active member of the Rho Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., where she serves on several committees, is a member of the Executive Board, and is co-chair of the Major Fundraising & Sisterly Relations committees. Krystal also sits on the Board of Directors for the Ebony Pearls Foundation.
Krystal resides in Brandon, MS with her 5-year old daughter, Londyn Marie.
Who is Krystal?
By day I am the Training & Prevention Programs Manager at My Brother’s Keeper, Inc. Daily, I’m the Mompreneursta to Londyn, and by evening and weekend, I am the owner of Elle Mari Events in Brandon, MS and Sprinkles and Sass Online Boutique.
I am what you would call a “Serial Mompreneur”. I have over 10 years of experience and background in Wedding and Event Planning, Coordination, and Event Design. This experience also includes an array of corporate & conference event management.
In addition to Elle Mari Events, I am the owner of Sprinkles & Sass Online Boutique and serve as a business coach for moms in business through my Mompreneursta brand and private FB group The Mompreneursta brand is all about Boss Moms raising businesses and babies and the importance of streamlining the two all while managing to live their best lives. Sharing life and mommy tips, self-care routines, and exchanging business ideas is what the brand is about. On Mondays, a Momprenerusta Mommy and her business are featured on the page.
If you could share some advice with a new entrepreneur, what would you say?
Consistency is KEY! It’s so much more important than perfection. You have to keep going! It will all fall in place.
What’s next for you and the business?
Next up in my businesses…Elle Mari Events- It’s Wedding Season! We have some super dope couples coming up and tons of pretty to plan for their big day. We also have a few corporate events & conferences for the Fall that we are super excited about.
The Mompreneursta Brand is planning a Mompreneurtsta meet up for Mompreneurstas all over. It’ll be a much deserved weekend for moms of collaboration, relaxation, and fun.
