I met Jill a few years ago and we have always remained in contact. She is an awesome travel advisor and goes above and beyond for her clients. She assisted in planning my daughter’s 22nd birthday cruise and it was amazing. Jill helped with not only booking the travel but assisted with the planning of what we would do while there. She’s not only a great travel advisor but she’s a great friend.
Who is Jill?
I am am a Luxury Travel Advisor, which means I help clients discover the world, one vacation at a time. I have lived in Texas since 2010. I was born and raised in Minnesota, yes the coldest state in the US! It took a long time for me to adjust to the warm weather and sun that Texas offers all year long, but I am so thankful I don’t have to shovel snow or hibernate indoors for the Winter. I am married for 15 years now, we have three furbabies and naturally, we love to travel. In fact, I have dreamed of traveling since I was in middle school, that is where I learned of the job “Travel Agent.” I thought how amazing, I can help people travel to exotic places and get paid to do it. So I went to school at the Travel Academy in Bloomington, MN and was hired immediately after by Hobbit Travel, the largest agency in Minnesota at the time. I worked for them for 8 years before they, unfortunately, had to close down. I was away from the travel industry for seven years working in the medical industry when I discovered the opportunity to purchase my own travel franchise. My travel business has officially been open since August 2013 and it’s been amazing, I have met some of the most amazing clients that I now call friends and I have been able to check off some bucket list travel of my own with visits to Ireland, Costa Rica, the Mediterranean to name a few.
Tell us about your businesses.
I am a Luxury Travel Advisor, Which means I create custom, crafted vacations for my clients for travel by land and sea. I have also been called a Fulfiller of Dreams. I help my clients save time and money when booking their vacations whether it’s a cruise from Galveston, an all-inclusive resort in Mexico or Jamaica, a Tour of Italy, and everywhere in between. You don’t have to rely on search engines and reviews when you book your travel with me, all you need to do is pack your bags and Go! I am also your personal advocate when things go wrong, which I hope never happens, but it can and that’s when you call me day or night I will make things right.
What’s your most proud moment?
My proudest moment happened in 2016 when I received a phone call from Living Magazine stating that I had won Best Travel Agent for the Spring, Champions, North Houston, Klein edition. I have successfully won this for three years now and I hope to make it four this year. Wish me luck!
What’s next for you?
I am looking to expand and bring on an associate that I can mentor and help them learn to love being a travel agent as much as I do. Ultimately, my hope is to be able to be a travel agent well past normal retirement age so that I can have residual income and keep seeing the world.
