LM: Tell us a little about yourself.
JB: My name is Jasmene Bowdry I’m a fashion entrepreneur, retail strategist, and stylist based in Atlanta.

LM: What made you get into fashion?
JB: It all started with paper dolls…
I was introduced to fashion back in the ’80s when my mom used to purchase paper doll books from the grocery store for me to play with, and I used to dress them up in their little paper outfits and pretend they were going somewhere really special.
As I got older, I participated in various fashion activities such as: coordinating fashion shows, modeling, helping on photo shoots, etc. From there, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising from Michigan State University followed by a Masters in Business Administration. I went on to be a Corporate Retail Buyer for several Fortune 500 retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Sears, where I was responsible for product assortment, pricing, promotional activity, and placement.
I worked as a fashion stylist for some of the world’s biggest hip-hop artists. I’ve traveled across the globe styling for concerts, movie premieres, and press tours and worked as a dresser for some of the biggest designers during New York Fashion Week. After extensive work in the fashion world, I started SHIFT StyleHouse. I didn’t know how things would turn out. I simply knew I was a lover of fashion and loved seeing the confidence women exuded when they got dressed up. After SHIFT, I launched “The Boutique Teacher”, where I teach fashion entrepreneurs how to grow their online boutique.

LM: What is the one thing that new boutique owners should do when starting their businesses?
JB: Identify their ideal customer

LM: What is it that you want the guests at WPS to get from your Werkshop?
JB: Actionable strategies they can implement and to know if they put in the time, dedication and execution, they can have a successful online boutique.

LM: How can we get connected with you?
